How to Import Custom 3D models

Custom 3D model Imports

  1. Get a 3D model. The model will need to be a .glb file extension (e.g. baseball.glb)
    1. You will want to make sure the model is optimized for Portals. Ideally between 1-2mb and less than 15K triangle. You can view the full recommended import specs here.
    2. If you need a model you can find a lot of free .glb models on Sketchfab. Make sure you filter for downloadable models, you download the .glb, and if it gives you the option download the one with the smaller texture.
  2. Click on edit mode in your space. Note: You will either need to be signed in with a wallet that has admin privileges in the space or the room will need to be in all-can-build mode.

  3. Select the “Custom Import” tool in your inventory.

  4. Upload the file or paste in the URL for your .glb file and click “Spawn GLB”.
